Beginning
on Sunday, June 6, we will worship at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Saturday
services for June 5, August 7, and September 4 will remain at 5:30 p.m.
(Because of the holiday weekend, there will be only one service on Sunday, May
30 and Sunday, July 4, at 9:30 a.m.) The first service will have a
traditional format with elements of worship that will include a call to worship,
prayer of confession, affirmation of faith, and hymns. When communion is
celebrated at this service, the congregation will receive the elements in their
pews. The second service will have a contemporary format with elements of
worship that will include praise and worship songs, featuring the musical gifts
of our Contemporary Band. This service will be less formal and a less
structured worship experience. When communion is celebrated, the congregation
will receive the elements by intinction (dipping the bread into the cup).
Sunday school classes will meet during both worship service times. Fellowship
will be held between services. This schedule will continue through August 2010.
From September through May, we offer three different styles of worship on Sunday mornings:
|
|
8:30 AM Service This service features elements of worship that have been carried down by the tradition of the faith. Creeds, psalms, scripture, responsive readings, hymns, anthems and other traditional elements make up this service. The pastors and choir are robed.
|
|
10:00 AM Service
This service maintains much of the style of the traditional worship service, but with more contemporary elements also used such as praise and worship music, responses, drama and a variety of musical styles.

11:15 AM Service
This service is a less formal, upbeat service, featuring the music of our contemporary bands, and a less structured worship experience.

Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month
at all three services, as well as the preceding Saturday
evening at 5:30 PM.
Special worship services are held on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Lenten Wednesdays, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and other holy days.
