Welcome to the music ministry of St. Paul UCC!

If you have an interest in and a talent for music, there is a place for you here! Our goal is to “make a joyful noise to the Lord” and to enhance the worship experience! We do that through many different groups, all with the same philosophy — serving Christ in every way possible. When the various musical groups perform in church, people usually clap, and that makes us happy. But that is not why we do it. We do it as a personal offering to God, delivered within the framework of the specific group performing. Please join us as we progress on our journey. All are welcome here!

St. Paul’s Charity Auction “Run for the Roses”—Saturday, May 4

The Kentucky Derby is one of the most exciting events of the year in sports!  We will watch a live broadcast of the derby at approximately 5:45 p.m.

The silent auction opens at 5:30 p.m. and ends around 7:30 p.m.  We will have a smorgasbord of items for bid—from oil changes to great wines to spa visits.  There will be something for everyone.

Great Food—Opera House Bistro in Red Bud will provide us with some of the best-tasting hors d’oeuvres in the greater St. Louis area.  You will think you’re at a Kentucky Derby party in Kentucky!  And, what’s great food without great drink?  Each person will receive three drink tickets that can be exchanged for wine,  beer or soda, plus there will be tea and water available.

The live auction will begin at approximately 8:00 p.m.  These are the items so valuable that they must be auctioned by a live auctioneer.  From baseball tickets to weekend getaways to week-long vacations, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get great items WHILE you support the organizations and groups benefiting from this auction.

The Entertainment—Guests are scheduled to appear for much less than they would normally charge.  You won’t want to miss the entertainment for the night!

Finally, the reason we have a charity auction—the charities.   First, we will be raising funds for a group called H.I.S. K.I.D.S.  This group does many things to help families and kids going through cancer.  But specifically, every summer they take over Camp Wartburg for a week and allow these kids and their siblings to enjoy everything the camp has to offer, completely free.  This is a wonderful group you will learn more about as we go.  Second, we will be raising funds to upgrade the technology in the sanctuary.  As you know, yesterday’s state of the art becomes today’s obsolete.  We need several updates that will enhance the worship experience in many ways.  Finally, we will be raising funds toward the Fine Arts Concert Series.  Those of you who were here for John Glosson can testify that it is wonderful to bring in a variety of folks, many of whom we could not afford without these extra funds.
