Text Box: Christian Education

The new year is off to a great start!  Sunday, September 9 was Fall Kickoff with 55 excited children and youth in attendance!  We all joined together for a time of fun and games to learn a little about our new friends.

Beginners and Kindergarteners have transitioned very well into their new classroom downstairs.  September’s lessons have taught the children about Ruth and Boaz, Obed, Hannah and Samuel.  October will bring them stories about Saul, David and Samuel.  These children really retain this information.  Ask one of the students about these stories and you may just find out something you didn’t know!

Grades 1st-4th students will continue learning that God loves all people alike.  Their focus while exploring acceptance and diversity has been that the Bible teaches that God’s love is for everyone and that all of us are created in the image of God.  As God’s people, we should love and appreciate others and be willing to learn from one another and work together.  The stories in this rotation have been portrayed through storytelling, cooking, games and art.   On October 21 we will begin our new rotation with “respect” as our primary focus.

The 5th and 6th  graders have also settled into their new room which is located on the stage.  Their teachers are doing a great job immersing them into Bible studies involving stories about Moses, Samuel, David, Matthew and the Disciples.  The students are learning how all these characters and events fit into a timeline.  In October their focus will be on Joshua, Abigail and David, Daniel and the Widow’s Mite.
